What is happening?
The Indigenous Cultural Safety team is inviting all staff, and medical staff, to participate in an online Indigenous health survey. The information you provide will help to inform future education and professional development opportunities.
Why?
Fraser Health is committed to implementing the recommendations from the report, In Plain Sight: Addressing Indigenous-specific Racism and Discrimination in B.C. Health Care. These recommendations will help to ensure an equitable health care system that delivers culturally safe care to Indigenous patients, families and communities across the Region.
The survey includes topics and questions frequently raised in Indigenous cultural safety education, including:
- Indigenous client/patient resources
- Historical awareness (i.e. Residential Schools, Indian Hospitals, etc.)
- Cultural awareness (i.e. role of an Elder, traditional medicines, etc.)
What can I do?
Help to inform future Indigenous program planning and education opportunities. Take the 10-minute online Indigenous health survey for all staff now. Your responses are completely confidential. The survey closes on March 17.
