DESCRIPTION:Event Hosted by Doctors of BC\nBC doctors are invited to take part in a free online workshop on the topic “Equity\, Diversity & Inclusion: Elusive Dream or Achievable Reality.” Sponsored by the Specialist Services Committee on behalf of the Joint Collaborative Committees and led by doctors\, this workshop will focus on better understanding: \n\nthe current state of equity\, diversity\, and inclusion in medicine\nexisting barriers to equity\, diversity\, and inclusion in medicine from various perspectives (Indigenous health\, gender equity\, underrepresentation of racialized groups\, LGBTQ+\, and transgender health)\nthe importance of representation in medicine\nunconscious biases and ways to create a safe space in the profession\nhow to build a network of colleagues for ongoing collaboration and support\n\nEvent date/time: Sunday\, July 17\, 2022 from 9:30am-12:00pm\nRegistration deadline: June 24\, 2022 \nTo allow for a more in-depth conversation\, registration will be on a first come first served basis with a limit of 60 participants.
