Leaders Book Club: Humble Inquiry

Our second Leaders Book Club Session book was well attended by 26 of our colleagues lead by Dr. Paul Johar and Dr. Tym Frank over Zoom. Special thanks to Dr. Sarah Ostler for suggesting “Humble Inquiry” by Edgar H Schein.

Together we learned how “Humble Inquiry” can help build relationships, how this differs from other forms of questioning and how to develop “Asking” skills. This led to insightful conversations around how we can apply this to our work lives to encourage greater collaboration between colleagues. We found this book to be a powerful quick read that is packed with practical tools for leaders, managers and anyone who wants to develop a greater awareness of their surroundings through asking questions.

We are looking forward to the next Leaders Book Club on December 3 2020. [Event Info]

Do you have a book you’d like to recommend? It can be fiction or non-fiction. The main premise is that the book should teach us something that we can practically apply to our work lives and/or our personal lives. The cost of purchasing the book is covered by the MSA.

Please forward your book suggestion to contact@bhsmh.ca and we look forward to having you at our next Leaders Book Club Session.
